Elvira Clare has lived as a contemplative for many years and is a resident of the interfaith Forest of Peace Community on Salt Spring Island. She is a former nun of the Vedanta tradition and is an ordained Interfaith Minister. Elvira is a singer/songwriter whose songs inspire the heart. Her songs are descriptive of the spiritual journey and reflect the meeting point of music and the contemplative experience. Elvira facilitates workshops and retreats, combining her music with talks on contemplative practice and meditation. She also helps design Ritual and Music Programs for conferences and retreats.

Elvira was the Music Presider for the 2008 Spiritual Directors’ International Conference held in Washington DC, as well as the Music Presider for the 2008 Health Ministries Association Conference held in Irvine, California. As a member of the Ritual and Prayer Teams she helped design the Ritual Program for these conferences.
