Kelly Charlton studied with Edward Parker and Robin Wood at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and with Alexander Kelly at the Royal Academy of Music in London (postgraduate) on a Vaughn Williams Trust Scholarship. He also studied Teacher Training with Winifred Scott Wood at the Victoria Conservatory.
Kelly is an active performer as recitalist and collaborative pianist in England, France, Germany and Canada. He is also much sought after as an accompanist and vocal coach. Kelly has also performed for many years in London as conductor and harpsichordist for the acclaimed chamber choir 'The New Friends' Musick' which he founded in 1990, and as Musical Director for 'Shakespeare Celebrations', a popular theatre company whose performances combine Shakespeare's texts with thoughtful and innovative music, some of which are his own compositions. A dedicated and thorough teacher, he has successfully maintained a large private studio in London since 1980 and several of his students have entered the profession as teachers and performers.
