These films may be described as films concerned with issues arising from the human spiritual journey. They are not overtly “religious’ in that they do not promote a particular religious tradition. Rather, these films reflect or explore issues that may arise from the contemporary quest for spiritual meaning. We may find them inspiring, uplifting, or challenging. Discussion will follow for anyone who would like to participate.

“Shake Hands With the Devil”

This film is a cinematic adaptation of the Canadian General, Romeo Dallaire’s autobiographical account of his nightmare experience in Rwanda. “The approach is sane, sober and intelligent. The film makes clear that this was a tragedy that didn’t need to happen.” (Georgia Straight)
